Every day I like to start the day with a trip to the gym. I have always found NLP to be the key to personal growth, however personal development is more than simply working with the mind, but is to do with the mind-body connection. Therefore NLP in sports has always been an area that has fascinated me.
At school, I wasn’t particularly great at sports – in fact I would go out of my way to avoid them! It was only when I left school and went to the Royal Academy of Music, that I decided to take up Karate and get fit. This was a real revelation to me – it really made a huge impact in my life. My first sensei (teacher) was a real example of excellence, and I really wanted to get good, however I didn’t really believe I could be.
Around that time I started getting involved in NLP. Suddenly I discovered how NLP in sports can play such an important role.
Some of the things that held me back were limiting beliefs and lack of really knowing ‘how’ to do it.
Both these areas are things that we explore in depth on an NLP Practitioner training. How to break through limiting beliefs and on the NLP Master Practitioner training, we focus more on how to model excellence.
