The other day someone said to me ‘NLP? That’s on the way out now isn’t it?’
I thought the best response was to show them the way out….:-)
This NLP blog will explore why some people are saying this…
Well, on every NLP Practitioner training I run, I constantly see everyone totally transforming their lives – the way they feel, think and respond in every situation.
Past students keep coming back to me and telling me how they have achieved their outcomes, are creating the life of their dreams and improving their relationships and work.
So how on earth could it be on the way out?!?
Well, one answer that some of my students have provided is that NLP is flooding the marketplace – when I first started NLP, there were only about 3 places in the UK offering NLP. Now you go on Google and you find thousands!
Is more better? Well, judging by the number of students who come on my courses having been dissatisfied with other trainings, it seems that there is unfortunately a lot of poor quality training out there.
A while ago I had a few students from the military on my NLP Practitioner training who came up to me on the second day saying how skeptical they had been prior to the training because an NLP trainer had come to their base and taught them a bunch of wacky techniques that weren’t even really NLP! They said that what they had now learned with me gave them new confidence in NLP and that it really did work!
So, in a light-hearted note, here a few ideas for how NOT to select a training…
- Find the closest one to you
- Find the cheapest one
- Choose a course at a convenient time
- Select a company offering trainings almost every month
- Choose the shortest course
Basically, just because a course is convenient does not make it good. If you have to travel, pay a little more or even re-arrange your schedule, wouldn’t it be worth it to take a high quality training?
