The wrong type of ladder?!?
I’ve see this advert on telly so many times and every time I see this I cannot quite understand what this could on earth mean!
In case you don’t know what I’m talking about, there is an advert from one of these no win no fee lawyers that starts with some guy saying how he got £7000 compensation because he was fitting an alarm and fell off a ladder because he was given the wrong type of ladder.
What exactly is the wrong type of ladder? (Please make suggestions in the comments below – it would be great to find out what you think!)
Did someone gives him a circus clown ladder, or some sort of prank ladder?
Anyway, in this NLP blog I really want to bring up an important issue to do with personal power and taking responsibility in life.
Things happen in life and we can react in different ways, and often it will either be taking responsibility ourselves, or blaming someone else.
For example, if you can remember being at college or school and not finishing your homework for the next day. Do you go into school the next day and give excuses why it isn’t finished? Or did you stay up all night to get it finished? Or take the learnings about organizing your time more effectively next time?
Its easy to make excuses. But ultimately less rewarding.
On an NLP training we want people to take responsibility in their own lives to achieve the outcomes they want in life. If we constantly make excuses then we’ll temporarily feel better about the situation, but ultimately achieve nothing.
So the question is, what excuses have you made recently?
Think about some of the outcomes you have in life and have you been taking action towards achieving them?
I’m sure there are lots of reasons not too – like, ‘well I had work long hours/I had to tidy the house/ I had to walk the dog…’ etc.
But these are EXCUSES – we can always find reasons not to do things, but if you want to create the dreams you want in life, you need to start taking action – and the time to do it is now…
An NLP Practitioner learns how to do this and can achieve some amazing results. NLP is such a vast topic that to really benefit, attending a course is crucial. We have an NLP Practitioner training in Glasgow, Scotland in May and another in London in June.
